Calligraphy artist Kyo Miyako (Instagram: fudemoji_kyouka) recently competed in the beauty contest Beauty Japan Chūnichi 2025, earning a Fan Boost from supporters.
Miyako entered the contest with the goal of introducing her signature art style, “Kotouta” (a form of poetic calligraphy), to the people of Nagoya.
Thanks to receiving the Fan Boost, she gained the opportunity to present on stage. On her Instagram, she expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you all for your support.”
Reflecting on her experience, Miyako shared her renewed determination: “I will continue to grow and improve myself. I learned so much—about receiving support, asking for help, preparing thoroughly, and more.”

About Kyo Miyako
Known in Japan as 京華 (Kyōka), Kyo Miyako creates handwritten calligraphy that conveys emotions and messages. Her work includes Kotouta, naming calligraphy, birthday and celebration pieces, and other personalized creations. In addition to her artistic endeavors, she works as a care manager supporting the lives of people with disabilities and the elderly.
Miyako was also a first finalist at Beyond the One 2025 Tokai, further highlighting her accomplishments in both art and community engagement.
