Noriko Kassy recently spoke at the Kogakkan University Ethics Education Research Conference, addressing students who are aspiring teachers.

She stated that the absolute highlight and most enjoyable part of the trip was a drinking session with Mr. Hideo (@hideo1234) and Mr. Sho (@sho0829i_teacher). Despite having many more things she wanted to hear from them, she was touched that the male teachers listened intently to her story about childbirth. She emphasized that this is not a given and called the two teachers “gentlemen.” She expressed joy, happiness, and a sense of empowerment from being around people who live life authentically.
The positive energy led to more “miracles.” Ms. Keiko (@keiko.josanshi), a certified midwife, unexpectedly changed her schedule to attend. Furthermore, Ms. Akane (@akanejosanin), an independent midwife in Mie Prefecture, offered to drive and guide her for an early morning visit to Ise Grand Shrine, a plan that was decided after 11 PM for a 6 AM departure.
Ms. Kassy credited her ability to be so flexible to the support of her husband and the Miyadate family.
She described the learning experience at Kogakkan University as profound and felt deeply honored to have been on the panel with the other teachers. A comment from one of the participating teachers, Mr. Shimizu, stood out: “I decided to listen to Ms. Kashiwagi’s story with my right brain and stopped taking notes.”
She noted that there was also a male teacher who spoke about fetal memory, which “updated her concept of an educator.” She observed that the men who break new ground and lead the way are “soft.” She described the two days as incredibly happy.
Prior to this event, Ms. Kassy had a meeting in Odawara with “Waka-chan” and “Pin-pin,” then traveled to Shizuoka to give a presentation at the Beauty Japan Thanks Party, followed by a drinking session in Nagoya.
She concluded by expressing her gratitude and happiness for having people to meet.
