Current Status and Role
Makiko Kamada has strategically restructured her professional life to focus on high-level vision. Having inherited her father’s company, she now entrusts daily operations to a reliable team, intervening only in essential decision-making and directional planning. This transition at age 60 allowed her to move away from all-encompassing management to a more intentional and focused leadership style.
In her personal life, Kamada began playing golf at age 63 following her recovery from illness. She is now training with the specific goal of achieving an age shoot—matching or beating her age on the course—during her 70s.
Background and Journey
Since turning 40, Kamada has committed to a personal philosophy of tackling a brand-new challenge every ten years. While her 40s and 50s were dedicated to the rigors of corporate management, she chose the Mrs. Globe pageant as the defining theme for her 60s.
Her journey was marked by significant hurdles, including the global pandemic and health struggles. However, her persistence culminated in a historic achievement last year when she became the first Japanese representative to be awarded 3rd Runner-Up in the Mrs. Classique Globe category.
Future Vision and Goals
Kamada’s future objective is to serve as a living example that age and social standing should never be reasons to abandon new aspirations. She believes that the pursuit of goals like the age shoot in golf is not just about the score, but about demonstrating that growth and fulfillment are continuous throughout the later stages of life. Through her ongoing actions, she aims to inspire others to live without limits.
