TONY ROPPON LAUNCHES GLOBAL #SAKURAKIMONODOLL PROJECT FROM ASHIKAGA

ASHIKAGA, Japan — Tatsuya Roppongi, known internationally as Tony Roppon and recognized as “America’s No.1 Overseas Publishing Coach,” has launched a new global cultural initiative from 足利市 aimed at sharing the beauty of Japanese kimono and sakura culture with the world.

The project, titled #SakuraKimonoDoll, invites women living outside Japan to participate in a unique cross-cultural experience. Through Facebook and Instagram, Tony is calling for participants using the hashtag #SakuraKimonoDoll in multiple languages, including English and Spanish, ensuring accessibility for women worldwide.

Participants who join an online two-shot commemorative photo session with Tony will receive a personalized 3D doll figure designed in their likeness. Each figure depicts the participant wearing a traditional kimono beneath falling cherry blossoms, symbolizing Japan’s iconic sakura season. The 3D doll artwork will then be compiled into a photography collection scheduled for international publication.

Tony explains that while many women around the world admire Japan’s cherry blossoms and kimono tradition, few have the opportunity to experience standing beneath sakura trees while dressed in kimono. By combining digital technology, cultural storytelling, and overseas publishing, the initiative seeks to bridge that gap.

“From Ashikaga to the world,” Tony said. “I want to share the charm of kimono culture—especially from Ashikaga—with women across the globe.”

The project is open exclusively to women residing outside Japan who have an interest in Japanese culture and are able to participate in an online photo session.

Interested participants can search for #SakuraKimonoDoll or Tony Roppon on Facebook or Instagram for more information.
