ENJOYING ACCESSORIES LIKE PAINTINGS: ARTIST EMI BRINGS THE EMUSEE GALLERIA VISION TO LIFE

TOKYO, JAPAN — EMusee Galleria, a jewelry brand defined by its bold use of large natural stones and classical aesthetics, is redefining the boundary between personal adornment and fine art. Founded in 2021 by artist and designer EMi, the brand operates under the evocative concept of enjoying accessories as if they were paintings.
A VISION FORGED IN EDITORIAL PRECISION AND ARTISTIC PASSION
Born and raised in Tokyo and a graduate of Musashino Art University’s Department of Moving Images and Performing Arts, EMi spent fifteen years as an editor for high-profile publications, including ballroom dancing magazines and fashion journals for major cosmetics brands. This extensive background in visual storytelling, combined with two periods of study in London, provided the foundation for the sophisticated, narrative-driven designs that characterize EMusee Galleria.
Despite her successful career in media, EMi’s core identity remains that of a creator. Her transition to jewelry design was a natural evolution of her lifelong commitment to artistic expression, a journey marked by winning the Adachi Art Association Award for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018.
THE RISE OF GALLERIA: FROM SHOP ICON TO COLLECTIBLE ART
At the heart of the brand’s identity is Galleria, the symbolic muse and centerpiece of EMi’s shop displays. Originally created to anchor the brand’s atmosphere, the artwork has garnered unexpected popularity, with customers frequently requesting to purchase the piece itself.
In response to this demand, EMi is set to expand the brand into the realm of physical art. While the original master painting will remain with the designer, EMi plans to release high-quality canvas prints. To maintain the brand’s signature uniqueness, each print will feature hand-crafted three-dimensional elements, such as miniature necklaces or ornaments, ensuring that every piece remains a one-of-a-kind creation. Other original paintings by EMi are also expected to be made available for purchase as master originals.
