Freelance announcer, model, and influencer Kyoko Tamura (@kyokyokyo46) has officially announced her candidacy for the Kyoto Kimono PR Ambassador 2026.
Having passed the first round of SNS screening, Tamura is now taking on the ZOOM interview stage. On her social media, she shared her passion: “Through kimono and yukata, I want to convey the beauty of Japan’s traditions and four seasons to as many people as possible.”
She emphasized the craftsmanship behind kimono and their seasonal elegance, saying that they “gently embrace the wearer and bring peace to those who see them.” In addition, Tamura hopes to introduce the history and culture of her hometown Yamaguchi Prefecture, presenting its charm alongside kimono.
Currently, Tamura is actively engaged in promoting the beauty of Japanese culture across the nation, beginning with her role as Tourism Ambassador for Yanai City.
Her achievements include winning the International Women’s Day Grand Prix 2024, serving as an official ambassador in the same year, and earning third place at the All Japan Kimono Styling World Contest (2019). She was also selected as Mrs. Nadeshiko Japan Hiroshima Representative 2024, underscoring her deep knowledge and passion for kimono.
With her growing influence and dedication, Kyoko Tamura is poised to play a key role in preserving and promoting Japan’s kimono culture for the next generation.
