TOKYO – Popular social media figure Ai Sasaki has recently drawn significant attention from her followers after openly sharing her personal transformation and bold new goal: to become a star.
About two weeks ago, a comment from a spiritual companion—“Are you really that round?”—prompted Sasaki to reexamine her way of being. She admitted that, in trying to avoid becoming like her “square and rigid mother,” she had unconsciously grown “spiky.” From there, she resolved to “become rounder,” describing the process as pulling out her thorns one by one.
This shift has been noticed by those around her. When she reunited with a mentor after 12 years, the mentor remarked, “You look as young as ever, but something about your aura has changed.” Sasaki responded with a laugh, “I’ve become rounder.”
Now, Sasaki has set her sights even higher. “Stars in the universe aren’t perfectly shaped—they’re roundish, bumpy spheres. But from Earth, they shine as brilliant stars. I, too, am a rough, bumpy sphere from bumping into life’s challenges. My next goal is to become a star,” she wrote. She added that the method is simple: “Just give yourself permission to shine.”
Her declaration has sparked a wave of supportive and empathetic responses from followers. By embracing her own evolution and aiming to shine brightly, Sasaki’s message is giving many people courage and hope.
