A new concept called “Oshi Vacation (Oshi Bake)” is gaining attention across Japan for redefining the idea of oshi-katsu—activities fans do to support their favorite idols or creators.
In this service, fans can gift their “oshi” (favorite idol) a trip, and in return, receive exclusive travel photos, souvenirs, and even access to post-trip fan events. The idea combines fan support with local tourism promotion, earning it the nickname “the hometown tax donation of idol fandom.”
How “Oshi Vacation” Works
Fans contribute to cover their idol’s travel expenses, while idols share personal photos taken during the trip and local specialty gifts as tokens of appreciation. Some plans even include an offline event afterward, where idols personally thank their supporters and share stories from the trip.
Through this model, fans can feel closer to their idols while also discovering new travel destinations, helping to promote regional culture and tourism through social media exposure and collaborations.
Trusted and Officially Recognized
“Oshi Vacation” has been officially selected by Kanagawa Prefecture’s venture support program “ARUYO ODAWARA,” marking a milestone in credibility and innovation. The project also collaborates with local tourism boards and businesses, encouraging idols to share content from their journeys through social media and promotional videos.

“Oshi Vacation” is currently seeking idols, former idols, and freelance performers interested in joining this unique initiative.
