Aichi, Japan — Ako Kojima, a mother of two from Aichi Prefecture, has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious TRUE RADIANCE 2025 competition. Kojima, who is a mother to a high school sophomore and a middle school freshman, is challenging herself to “graduate from the self I couldn’t fully commit to until now” and to “shine in my own way.”
Kojima shared her personal journey on social media, detailing a history of prioritizing others and lacking self-confidence. “I constantly worried about what people thought of me,” she wrote, admitting she had become lost, asking, “Who is my true self?” She had long strived to be the “good girl,” believing she had to endure difficulties with a smile to avoid worrying those around her, often running away from challenges and settling for the status quo.
The catalyst for her entry into the contest was a high school classmate. After much deliberation, Kojima made the decision to compete. She stated her resolve to “seriously face myself and enjoy the change!” Her participation is a commitment to record her lessons, discoveries, and transformation leading up to the competition.
Kojima’s journey, focused on believing in herself and challenging the past, is poised to inspire women across the nation to pursue their own paths to personal radiance.
