PROJECT FOR WHEELCHAIR NAIL ARTISTS IN KOBE NAN KIN MACHI BY MAI KAWANISHI

Entrepreneur Mai Kawanishi has launched a groundbreaking project in Kobe Nan Kin Machi to redefine the nail industry through inclusivity and technology. After surviving a rare disease and spending five years as a wheelchair user, Kawanishi is dedicated to creating an environment where individuals with disabilities can pursue their professional dreams without barriers.
The project focuses on establishing a sustainable career path for wheelchair users, starting from vocational training to becoming franchise owners. Currently, many nail schools lack the facilities to accommodate wheelchair users, a gap that Kawanishi intends to bridge through this initiative.
The salon will utilize advanced nail printers to ensure high-quality results while significantly reducing the physical strain on artists. This technology allows for complex designs to be completed within one hour, ensuring efficiency and higher wages for the staff.
While the ultimate goal is a fully specialized barrier-free environment, the journey begins with a shared nail salon in Kobe Nan Kin Machi to secure the necessary funding for the larger vision. Kawanishi is currently raising capital through a crowdfunding campaign to realize this life-changing system.
